Walking on the Big Green

    On the top of the forest, let yourself go between sky and earth by branches of a big beech ;

the Big Green is here, as far as the eyes can see...

The soft contact with the bark, the murmur of the wind in the leaves, the ground which disapeared a long time ago... meeting this friendly host creates new feelings, a mix of forgetting and memories.

Instinct and senses find their place, a sensual language

is established with the tree.

A night in the trees

It's getting dark. We must choose a branch and build a cosy little nest. Huddling inside, at 20 meters high, we feel like a nomad guest.

Forest's sounds are taking place. The next morning, awakened by the birds'singing and by of squirrels' acrobactics... we are looking for the earth. But, in fact, in the Big Green, we don't go down from bed, we ramble on the canopy.

An other beech is holding out us a hand.

The crossing will be done at the branches'end thanks to a leave, laying down on the path. Twenty four hours later, we are coming down again on earth. The same travel that the sap... Does it also change us?

Activities

" Les Arbronomades® " is an association, based in Lille, France.

We organise :

Journeys of walking in nice forests of France (Pas-de-Calais, Pyrénées...). Our trees-guides embark you for a ramble in the canopy, without puting a foot on the ground. Journeys Discovery Ramble or Night and Day Discovery - crossing from a tree to another and lunch in gravitree !

These journeys are opened for all people, from 7 to 77 years old :

  1. tourism :
    friends, couples, families, groups, work's councils ...
  2. social action :
    educative programms (reinsertion, violence, handicap...)
  3. incentives :
    they are made-to-measure; thus, The Beech Incentive explores by emotions and instincts the adaptation to a new environment.

Events : on the urban tree's theme, to highlight exceptional trees' patrimony. Main events are called " Rue du Baron Perché " (Baron Perché's Street). The opening of theses itineraries in the trees is a moment for nature, cultural and competitive events, where storytellers, musicians and artists take place.

Libercourt (may 1998), Lens (june 1998), Comines (april 1999), Bersée (may 1999), Ville d'Avray (june 1999), L'Eclipse (august 1999), Le Quesnoy (september 1999), Clenleu (june 2000), Angers (june 2000), Tourcoing (july 2000), Templemars (july 2000) La Méridienne Verte (july 2000).

Purposes

  • create an activity in direct contact with nature
  • open adventure to everybody
  • practice climbing in a sensitive way
  • develope leisures in forest
  • enable adult to climb again in the trees
  • educate, make people aware of environment by the respect of trees
  • help the people to dream on the forest.

In short, the tree, the forest as a new world of adventure, cultural education, solidarity and leisures.
